07.02.09:
Freshman/JV girls' parents---
As you may recall from the end of the school year, the early
tumbling class was much smaller than the later one. When we moved to Tuesday
nights we invited a handful of girls to volunteer to move classes. As it turns
out, however, more girls switched classes than was probably anticipated AND
several new girls who hadn't been coming on Sundays registered for the
classes, as well, and nearly all opted to be in the earlier class. This
past week this resulted in a 6:30pm class with over 25 girls in it and a
7:30pm class with only 5 girls!!
This clearly is not ideal...for either the coaches or the
girls. So clearly we need to try to balance out the classes out with
relatively equal numbers of girls. We could do that by alphabet again, and may
still have to....HOWEVER, we want to first give the girls and their families a
chance to split THEMSELVES more evenly. So here goes....
I am willing to take on the task of trying to even the
classes out but I need families to email me (elibey@rochester.rr.com)
ASAP and let me know:
1.) Do you NEED to be in one class or the other (6:30pm
or 7:30pm)? (And why?)
...or...
2.) Can you really take either class? (You are free to
tell me which class you PREFER...but it would be helpful to know who CAN come
to the 7:30pm class as we try to balance things out.)
Once I have information back from as many people as
possible, I will try to create more balanced class rosters and get them sent
out/published. I realize that this weekend is a holiday weekend and so we may
not be able to have the situation PERFECTLY solved by July 7th...but I'd like
to have at least started and the two classes will DEFINITELY need to be evenly
split by no later than the class on July 14th!
Thanks!!
Erik

NEW SUMMER CLASS!!
***ADVANCED CHEER TUMBLING***
A new class is being formed at RGA for the summer to help develop &
maintain the skills of the advanced tumblers in the Fairport cheerleading
program. The goal of this class is to be moving as many girls as possible
towards working on tumbling passes with a full twist. In order to enroll in
this class, which is open to girls from ALL grade levels and squads, girls
MUST be doing at LEAST their roundoff-backhandspring-tuck pass
ALONE WITH
NO SPOT (which means a coach is not even standing on or near the
floor when they do this pass) and must be working on their lay out and/or full
(with or without spot). All girls who are currently tumbling at this level
are encouraged to enroll!! Details of the class are as follows:
When: Thursday nights during the Summer Session
Time: 6:40pm to 7:55pm
First Class: Thursday, July 2nd
Cost: $90 for the full summer session.
Register for the class by contacting RGA directly. If you have any
questions about which girls are appropriate for enrollment please speak to
either Coach Erik or Coach Ivo or email Erik directly at
